UQ Chinese Debating Association

Welcome to the University of Queensland Chinese Debating Association (UQCDA), where passion for language, culture, and intellectual discourse converge! As a dynamic and inclusive community, UQCDA stands as a vibrant platform for students eager to explore the rich tapestry of the Chinese language and culture through the art of debate.

At UQCDA, our mission is threefold: first, we are dedicated to preserving and promoting the cultural and linguistic heritage of China, creating a space where members can engage with both contemporary and historical topics. Second, we focus on skill development, offering regular training workshops to enhance critical thinking, research, public speaking, and argumentation abilities. Lastly, we aim to bridge gaps and build understanding by fostering a diverse membership that brings together individuals from various backgrounds, regions, and age groups.

Throughout the year, UQCDA hosts exciting events, including the Freshmen Debate Competition, designed to showcase and nurture emerging talents. Our engagement with the popular Chinese debate show “Qipa Shuo” adds an entertaining twist to intellectual discussions, making debates accessible and enjoyable for all.

While not currently affiliated with external organizations, our commitment to excellence and inclusivity drives our endeavors. Connect with us on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/uq.cda) to join the conversation and become part of the thriving Chinese debating community at the University of Queensland. Embark on a journey of cultural exploration, skill enhancement and camaraderie with UQCDA!
