UQ Pakistani Students' Association

The UQ Pakistani Students’ Association is a Brisbane based club run by and for students of Pakistani/origin studying at the University of Queensland. The club aims to represent Pakistani students on campus, organise events and nurture an environment that allows both domestic and international students at UQ to stay connected to their culture. The club welcomes and hosts students and staff of all backgrounds to its events and has worked in collaboration with other international clubs on campus as well.

Founded in 2010, the UQ Pakistani Students’ Association has been dedicated to representing both domestic and international students of Pakistani origin/connection at UQ. The club has hosted cultural events to foster an enriching environment for its members who want to stay connected to their roots, as well as for people of diverse backgrounds who are interested in learning about the Pakistani culture. The club has also organised many events with the sole purpose of raising funds for issues that concern our community back in Pakistan. In 2010, during our inaugural year, we collected 36,000 AUD for the Pakistani floods victims, leading to our club winning an award for ‘Highest fund raised” at UQ clubbies awards. This year, after a brief hiatus during COVID, the club has reignited its presence at UQ, and run another successful fundraiser for flood relief efforts in Pakistan. Our club has been a point of support for many Pakistani students at UQ, and we maintain a close connection with our alumni as well. Whether you are a student of Pakistani background or not, UQPSA will always make you feel welcome.
