UQ United Nations Student Association

UQUNSA is the leading society for International Relations at UQ. We host a multitude of events for anyone interested in any aspect of IR or global events, from Model UN to round-table discussions and Pub Crawls.

CORPORATE: We host intellectual debates between leading academics, providing an avenue for educational advancement. Hosting a range of interactive and informative events, we keep students informed, stimulated and educated. Furthermore, as a UQ UNSA Member, you have access to industry professionals. This will help you gain professional contacts and knowledge of your options while studying at UQ.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS: Model UN is a simulation of the United Nations, where participants represent a Member State/Observer at the UN. This is a great way for students to apply theoretical aspects of their studies to a simulation, where they can develop public speaking and diplomacy skills.

SOCIALS: Uni isn’t all about study. With UQ UNSA, you’ll have access to a wide range of social events. We host a range of events, which include launch parties, casual drinks, pub crawls and our annual International Relations Ball.

No! All our events are optional and open to member and non-members alike. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for events you or your friends may be interested in.

UNSA is the only club on campus which offers Model UN events – a style of formal debating where participants take up the role of a country represented at the UN. Each Model UN topic is different, and it is up to you to represent your countries interest and come to a final resolution which benefits your country and its goals.

Come to our events! Whether you’re studying IR or not we have events catering to anyone at University. If you’re nervous bring a friend, all of our events are super welcoming to newcomers and our Exec members are always happy to see new people.
