What are you most looking forward to about your involvement in the Union in 2024?

I am looking forward to making this year the best year we have had so far! I want the Union to achieve great heights and make university life easier for students. I want to work hard for the students but also enjoy my time as a student at UQ!

What are your priorities, key focuses and/or commitments in 2024?

My priority is to make UQ a safer, better, and happier place for women, a place where they are respected and are heard. I am going to empower women and celebrate womanhood, as it often gets so overlooked.

I aim to open a women’s room in Gatton and bring all the services and amenities over to the woman and gender diverse students at the Gatton campus. I am focusing on building a community which fosters a sense of belongingness, a safe space for all women and gender diverse students.

What do you believe are the biggest or most pressing challenges facing students today?

The two main problems that students have with academic life are loneliness and uncertainty. The shift from school to university life is very significant; everyone is vulnerable during this period and needs friendship the most.

How would you like to support, represent, and/or entertain students?

By easing the transition to university life, fostering a sense of community, and organising numerous social events, I hope to assist students in meeting new people and expanding their networks. Additionally, I want to assist women and gender diverse students by creating a secure environment where they may rest and recharge. Students are always invited to talk with me, and bring their issues to me, and I appreciate any form of feedback.

What’s been a highlight or favourite moment or event from your time at university or with UQU?

My biggest highlight has been running a Diwali event at the Gatton campus for the first time ever, and it would not have been possible without UQU.

What can you be found doing for fun when you’re not studying or working?

I love building Legos, baking fresh goods or hitting the gym!

Where’s your favourite spot to grab a feed and kick back on campus?

My favourite café at the Gatton campus is Reggies and my favourite café at St Lucia is Bookmark Café.
