I am most excited about the opportunity to further engage with the international student community and enhance their university experience through more inclusive and supportive initiatives. I look forward to collaborating with different cultural groups and organizations to bring a richer, more diverse set of events and services to our students.

What are your priorities, key focuses and/or commitments in 2024?

My main priorities for 2024 include improving communication between the university administration and international students, expanding access to mental health resources, and organizing events that promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding. I am committed to advocating for policies that ensure equitable treatment and opportunities for all students, regardless of their background.

What do you believe are the biggest or most pressing challenges facing students today?

The biggest challenges facing students today include mental health issues, financial instability, and navigating the complexities of a global educational environment. International students face additional hurdles such as cultural adjustment, language barriers, and isolation, which can exacerbate these challenges.

How would you like to support, represent, and/or entertain students?

I aim to support students by being a proactive and responsive International Students Officer, representing their needs at the university level, and ensuring their voices are heard and acted upon. Entertaining and engaging students through culturally rich programs and events will also be a key focus, aiming to create a welcoming and vibrant community space.

What can you be found doing for fun when you’re not studying or working?

When I’m not busy with studies or union activities, I enjoy cooking, clubbing, and exploring local cuisines. I’m also an avid Netflix and research fan and spend quite a bit of time watching movies and studying scientific articles. I have a weird blend of hobbies haha.

My favourite spots on campus are the REDROOM and Lakeside Café. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a good meal with friends, overlooking the beautiful campus lake.
