What is your elected position for 2024?

Gender & Sexuality VP (Queer Officer)

 

What are you currently studying?

Bachelor of Arts with Extended Major in Writing and Minor in Ancient History.

 

What are you most looking forward to about your involvement in the Union in 2024?

Organising events and engaging with students.

 

What are your priorities, key focuses and/or commitments in 2024?

Outreach and community for queer students, Queer Fest, and the creation of a LGBTQIA+ Bursary to combat student financial hardships.

 

What do you believe are the biggest or most pressing challenges facing students today?

Financial, time, physical and mental health, social and discrimination.

 

How would you like to support, represent, and/or entertain students?

Frequent events, safe spaces, someone to come to when they are facing struggles with queer issues, and financial support through bursaries and provided food.

 

What’s been a highlight or favourite moment or event from your time at university or with UQU?

My time spent in the Carden Queer Room.

 

What can you be found doing for fun when you’re not studying or working?

Playing or talking about video and board games and hanging out with friends.

 

Where’s your favourite spot to grab a feed and kick back on campus?

I get a coffee and some food from On A Roll bakery then head down to Carden to kick back.
