This includes Student Advocacy and Support (SAS); retail, food and beverage outlets, and a fantastic campus culture. As an independent body, UQU represent students on all important university committees to ensure their voice is heard on all university matters.

Events & Marketing Officer | St Lucia | Full time

Love working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? Then this is the job for you! Sitting within a Marketing Team of 7, you’ll get to showcase your outstanding end-to-end event management skills working on a broad range of events including outdoor expos and music events, cultural events, seminars, food festivals, and more.


You’re the person we’ve been searching for if…

  • You’ve got 3+ years experience in end-to-end Event Management
  • You’re a self-starter who likes to work as part of a team
  • You thrive in high pressure situations
  • You are the ultimate multi-tasker who has no problems managing multiple projects with competing deadlines at the same time.
  • People are your jam – collaborating on concepts, onboarding volunteers, negotiating with stakeholders, liaising with performers – you like it all!
  • You’re physically ready to break a sweat and get a little dirty with bump ins and bump outs.

We’d love it if you’ve got some marketing experience to help promote these beautiful events but this isn’t essential.

Second in Command @ Pizza Caffe | St Lucia | Part time

We are a looking for an energetic 2IC to support the supervision and operations of UQU’s iconic Pizza Caffe. This role provides leadership, direction, and support to develop and sustain our successful business. You will be providing a high level of customer service, working alongside the team and offering ‘hands on’ support.

Approx 20 hours per week are available for this role, on a permanent part time basis.

The role also involves:

  • Setting up of H&L;
  • Banking duties;
  • Adding value and generating sales through upselling of food and beverage items;
  • General café duties, including cleaning of service areas and equipment; and
  • Stock rotation and control.

Is this you?

You have demonstrated leadership skills and have the ability to effectively support all team members to create a positive working environment. You have exceptional customer service skills and thrive on supporting the day-to-day operations of the outlet. You possess strong attention to detail and organisational skills.  You communicate effectively under pressure and possess excellent ability to multi-task and prioritise. 

In additional you will possess the following:

  • Previous experience in Hospitality with at least 3 years’ supervisory experience including training, rostering, and working within budget;
  • Demonstrated understanding of the provision of excellent customer service in a service-orientated workplace;
  • Ability to operate without direct supervision, including displaying initiative and problem solving as required;
  • Sound knowledge and practices of WHS, Manual Handling, and food safety and hygiene; and
  • Current Food Safety Supervisors Certificate highly desirable.
